From the Principal
Welcome to term 3
Welcome to term 3
Greetings Parents and Care givers
I trust that you’ve had a great holiday break with your child/ren. The Charlie and the Chocolate Factory musical has been an amazing showcase of staff, student and community collaboration. A clear theme is the impact of parenting on children’s values and behaviours demonstrated in ‘humorous and sometimes cautionary consequences, highlighting themes of greed, pride, and selfishness.’
Proverbs 22: 6 encourages us to ‘ direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it ’.
Our school has partnered with SchoolTV – a trusted resource that prioritises student mental health and wellbeing. Because parenting doesn’t come with instructions, SchoolTV is now accessible through our school to help you navigate some of the more complex issues young people face. It provides practical strategies and trusted guidance to support your child.
Parenting is a learning journey, and with a little help from SchoolTV, you can engage in meaningful conversations with your child on topics that may sometimes feel awkward or difficult to address. SchoolTV covers a vast range of topics, each featuring interviews with leading global experts and a carefully curated selection of resources from key organisations.
We encourage you to explore and utilise this platform, as it serves as a valuable tool in building relationships, fostering connections, and deepening understanding. By breaking down barriers, it helps pave the way towards better mental health and wellbeing for young people. To stay informed about the latest topics, we also recommend signing up for ‘Get Alerts’. This feature ensures you receive updates as new content becomes available, and you can easily register through the link provided within each topic.
Parents and caregivers play a crucial role in shaping a young person’s life, and SchoolTV is here to support you in nurturing confident and informed parenting.

May the LORD bless you as you raise up the next generation of parents!
God bless,
Craig

Volunteers Needed to Assist with HSC Exams
Volunteers Needed to Assist with HSC Exams
Wahroonga Adventist School (WAS) is currently looking for volunteers to assist with providing disability support provisions for students during the upcoming HSC examinations, 16 October to 7 November 2025.
Disability provisions are one way that NESA ensures there are reasonable adjustments available to students with disability so that they can access and participate in the HSC on the same basis as students without disability.
We need suitable people to provide the provision of reader or reader/writer.
Readers support students whose disability prevents them from independently reading and/or comprehending written questions.
Writers support students whose disability prevents them from independently communicating their responses in a handwritten format. This includes, spelling difficulty, and illegible or extremely slow handwriting.
What qualities should a reader/writer have?
Ability to communicate clearly in English with a sufficient literacy level
Understanding of the subject(s) being examined – previous papers can be provided for perusal
Clear, legible handwriting (if writing for the student)
Willingness to spend time practising with the student
Patience and sensitivity
Understanding of the need to maintain confidentiality and an ability to do so
If you would like to find out more information about disability provisions can be found here .
If you are interested in helping the school by volunteering your time and skills, please email Wahroonga Adventist School at your earliest convenience [email protected] to register your interest.
National Tree Day
National Tree Day
To celebrate National Tree Day, students from Year 7–10 joined forces with our Primary and Secondary Environmental Ambassadors to plant over 300 native plants in the nature reserve behind our school. This collaborative effort contributes to local biodiversity and supports the restoration of Coup’s Creek, part of a Blue Gum High Forest—a critically endangered ecological community that is now protected due to its rarity and environmental significance.
The Secondary Environmental Ambassadors also worked across the school grounds, planting out garden beds, establishing a vertical strawberry garden for the school kitchen, and expanding our vegetable and herb patch—all part of our ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability.
We extend our thanks to Jayden Streatfeild and the Wahroonga Waterways team for their invaluable support in preparing and guiding the planting efforts in the Coup’s Creek zone. Thank you also to Amos Thiel for your help in the veggie patch area.
We are incredibly proud of our students' passion, teamwork, and contribution to protecting and greening our local environment.

Environmental Ambassador Coordinator and Head of Science

Johnny competed in a range of the skiing events, achieving great results, including 13th out of 64 for Alpine and 8th out of 71 for Ski Cross.
