Construction Update
Construction Update
There are several changes taking place on the Wahroonga Estate due to the residential build that I wanted to share with you:
Changes to the current access road to the School
The current access road will be closed and worked on for the next four months starting November 14. A temporary access road is currently underway that will bring traffic from the White Road intersection up along the boundary of the school. This will ensure that there is no disruption to traffic while the builder undertakes necessary works under and to the current road.
This will mean that there will no longer be access from the bush to the school via pathways to the current access road. Please explore with your child/ren what the best access will be for them to and from school.
The current pedestrian crossing will continue to operate, with direct access to the oval. A footpath inside the school fence adjacent to the crossing will be installed to ensure student safety. The pedestrian crossing will be monitored to ensure student safety.
Once the planned works are completed in four months, the updated access road will be opened to school traffic once again. I will send out a more detailed email with diagrams to show the above information.
Temporary Closure of White Road Pedestrian Crossings & Church Car Park Access
Due to changes in site traffic management and an increase in heavy vehicle movement along White Road, pedestrian crossings and access to the church car park will be temporarily closed whilst construction works are occurring.
To ensure the safety for volunteers, staff and community members using the White Road crossings the following has come into effect from Wednesday, October 29:
Access to and from the church car park via the pedestrian crossings will be blocked
Access will now only be available via the footpath in front of the church
Pedestrian signage and line markings will be removed
All pedestrians will now need to use the main traffic-light controlled crossing on White Road / Fox Valley Road
Once construction is complete, traffic conditions on White Road will be reassessed, and upgrades to speedhumps, signage and line markings will be reviewed.
Thanks for your attention to the above changes. We will continue to work with the builder to ensure the safety of our students, staff and wider school community.
The LORD will guide and protect us through this season.
Yours in Christ’s service,
Craig Young
Principal

Chaplain's Message
A Thrill of hope Welcoming Christmas Together
A Thrill of hope Welcoming Christmas Together
Dear School Community,
What a joy to be back with you all after welcoming our third beautiful child, Lucy, born on October 14! My family and I are deeply grateful for your prayers, support, and the warm welcome extended during my paternity leave. God is good.
As we enter the final weeks of term—busy, yes, with assessments, events, and the familiar end-of-year push—let’s also gently turn our hearts toward Christmas. These days offer a precious chance to slow down, to talk with our children about Jesus, and to marvel at the wonder of His birth. Look for nativity scenes in the shops (Castle Towers has a lovely one!), share the story of the manger, and see this season as an invitation to point those in your sphere of influence toward the Light of the World.
You’re all warmly invited to our Christmas Chapel Service on Thursday, 5 December at Wahroonga Adventist Church , beginning at 8:45 AM . Seating will be guided by plans on screens as you enter. This year’s theme, “A Thrill of Hope” , draws from the beloved carol O Holy Night . After the challenges of recent years, we long to fix our eyes on the humble stable—where a tiny, innocent Baby lay, not in palace splendor, but in straw. Yet in that quiet moment, hope was born. Joy came for all who would meet Him, trust Him, and follow Him.
“Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.” — Luke 2:11 (NIV)
Let’s prepare our hearts together. Bring your families, your friends, your questions—and come ready to rejoice.
Pr Nick Kross
Senior Chaplain

Year 8 Photography Workshop
Year 8 Photography Workshop
On Tuesday, Period 1, our Visual Arts room welcomed a special guest — marketing expert and photographer Mrs. Tania Gonzalez . Mrs. Gonzalez led an engaging introductory workshop on photography, covering key concepts such as lighting, composition, and camera techniques .
As Year 8 students prepare to begin their group photography projects — creating three images inspired by a photographer of their choice — they were thrilled to learn from a professional. They enjoyed experimenting with different lighting setups and techniques like multiple exposure , sparking plenty of creativity and excitement.
Our budding photographers can’t wait to apply their new skills and bring their artistic visions to life!

Library Bag Podcasts
Library Bag Podcasts
Since Book Week last term, our Year 5 and 6 students have been working with Brenden and Suzanne Lovett to produce ‘Library Bag’ podcasts where they ask each other the all-important question, ‘So, what are you reading?’
Once edited, these podcast will be broadcast through the Library WebAPP ( bit.ly/waslibrary ). The podcasts will also be uploaded on the Library Bag website, so if your child’s interview is no longer featured on the Library WebAPP home page, they can still be found by clicking the link on the home page of the Library WebPP or by clicking here . We look forward to seeing our newly recorded podcasts appearing over the next few weeks.
Thank you to Brenden and Suzanne for the massive amount of work that has gone into providing this wonderful opportunity for our students.
